Change the battery of a watch depending on the brand

Change the battery of a watch depending on the brand
All quartz watches stop one day: their battery runs out. But changing a battery is not entirely the same from one brand to another — a chronograph is recalibrated, a solar model does not have a traditional battery, a waterproof watch requires a controlled seal. Choose your brand below to access the appropriate guide, or send us your watch directly: we support all brands.
Each brand has its particularities for battery replacement. Select yours for details, or entrust us with your watch: battery identification, replacement, recalibration and seal check, return within 3 to 7 working days in France (5 to 14 in Europe). Shipping from €9.90, anywhere in Europe.
Why the brand is a game changer
Before opening a watch, it is better to know what to expect depending on its brand:
- Chronographs (common in Festina, Lotus, Fossil) have counters to be reset and recalibrated after the battery replacement.
- Solar models (some Casio “Tough Solar”) do not have a battery to replace: they are recharged by light.
- Thewater resistance requires checking and sometimes replacing the seal, on sports models as on many Casio, Lotus or Ice Watch.
- The finishes — gold plating, crystals (Guess), covered case (Pierre Lannier) or soft silicone (Ice-Watch) — are easily scratched or deformed when opened.

Regardless of the brand, don't leave a dead battery in your watch. A dead battery will eventually leak, and the electrolyte will corrode the movement — a much heavier repair than a simple battery replacement. As soon as the watch stops, have it replaced.
Find the right guide for your brand, or change the battery in your watch without moving — whatever its model.
